How is body type determined from measurements?
For women, body shape is classified by comparing bust, waist, and hip measurements: Hourglass (bust and hips similar, waist significantly smaller), Pear (hips wider than bust by more than 3 inches), Apple (waist more than 80% of bust or hips), or Rectangle (all measurements within 5% of each other). For men, wrist circumference helps determine somatotype: Ectomorph (wrist under 6.5"), Mesomorph (6.5-7.5"), or Endomorph (over 7.5").
